Jose (AKA Pepe) is one of the members of the climbing team and the only Spanish climber in the 2015 British Ama Dablam expedition.
Originally from Denia in the East coast of Spain, he is lives been living in London since 2001. Pepe is a keen rock climber, winter mountaineer, and adventure runner having under his belt some mountain long distance races and adventure races.
Over the past 20 years he has combined a professional career in finance with expeditions and climbing activities. Jose has been involved in a number of Expeditions, including the Karakorum region of Pakistan in 2006 where he tried a solo attempt to the Juniper Peaks and Monk’s Head of Rakaposhi.
In preparation for the Ama Dablam expedition, Jose has been training this past Winter in Spain’s highest mountain peak Mulhacen (3,479m) in the Sierra Nevada region, in the Pyrenees area of the Montserrat and Cadi, and in the Montgo massif in Denia. This Summer his training plan included alpine ascents of 4,000m in the Alps and visits to the Lakes and Scotland.
